While this group has no management or governance functions in Assiniboia Capital, it provides Assiniboia Capital with advice and insight into future developments in agriculture in Saskatchewan, and around the world.

• Lorne Hepworth

  Mr. Lorne Hepworth is President of CropLife Canada, a national trade association representing manufacturers, developers and distributors of plant science innovations for use in agriculture, urban and public health settings. Previously, Mr. Hepworth held various executive positions with the Canadian Agra Group of Companies, a large agri-business company specializing in agri-food/feed production, processing and marketing of such diverse products as wine, apple juice concentrate, canola oil, and dehydrated alfalfa. Mr. Hepworth was a Member of the Legislative Assembly in Saskatchewan from 1982 to 1991, where he served at various times as Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Energy and Mines, Minister of Education, and Minister of Finance. A former veterinarian, Mr. Hepworth maintains a grain farm at Assiniboia, Saskatchewan. He has been a member of several industry, professional and government advisory boards and councils including the: Canadian Agri-Food Research Council, National Biotechnology Advisory Committee, Pest Management Advisory Committee, Board of Directors of the Veterinary Infectious Diseases Organization, and the Councils of the Canadian and Saskatchewan Veterinary Associations.
